While working as a wedding designer, Shravana Sachdeva always noticed that, a wedding though the happiest day for a bride, can turn stressful too, if you don’t have the right experts, guiding you in the whole process. That’s when, she decided to start a digital platform to help brides and the newlywed girls.
“I had started WittyVows as my personal journal and the girls started reaching out to me with their problems. That meant, scaling my little wordpress blog to a bigger portal. It was a challenge to build a platform that was witty in every way, yet functional.”, says Shravana.
WittyVows aims to be the ultimate marriage guide for the modern Indian bride.
Prior to starting WittyVows, Shravana was working a wedding and experience designer with one of India’s biggest event management and wedding design companies.
“I am a NIFT alumni and studied lifestyle accessories – that meant not just designing products based on what consumer needs and latest trends but literally drilling, welding, carpeting and actually making a product. So, I have always had that DIY (Do it yourself) in my education – trend forecasting and problem solving was a huge part of what we did.”
For us, a product only made sense if it solved an issue. I carry both these into my work as a designer and now as the founder of WittyVows.”, Says Shravana.
Shravana wants to create an absolute no-judgement space at WittyVows so that girls can reach out to them with any kind of advice – from what songs to use for the pre-wedding shoot, to how to deal with a vendor, to girl problems in the bedroom – anything.
She wants WittyVows to grow and be the online personal marriage magazine that every girl can look to for advice when she starts dreaming of her big day.
